The Scottish actor and D.I Steve Arnott in the Line of Duty, Martin Compston, showed he can still play football after leaving Morton in 2002 in favour of becoming an actor.

Compston was hailed on social media as he pulled the strings for the Rest of the World side last night, winning special praise for wearing the number 67 in honour of the Lisbon Lions. Andy Robertson also hailed Compston for his strong tackles.

The Morton born actor has been photographed rubbing shoulders, with his teammates.

Compston played alongside Eric Cantona, Yaya Toure, Juan Sebastian Veron, Robert Pires and Clarence Seedorf, playing against an England side that included Phil Neville, Jamie Redknapp and Robbie Fowler.

The game finished with a 3-3 draw, only won on penalties thanks to Blake Harrison aka Neil from the Inbetweeners.

Just blether whenever I want, about whatever I want - I have written for a number of news outlets local and national.
